"Dear Johann and Jean-Marc,
We wanted to thank you for such a wonderful morning last week learning the game of La Petanque.  We were very much looking forward to this activity, however it really exceeded our expectations.
We so appreciate your graciousness, thoughtfulness, time and attention (and patience) teaching us this wonderful sport. We also appreciated all of the treats and snacks you brought, and even your consideration for finding the right location.  My children enjoyed it so much, they declared it their favorite part of the trip and my son said Petanque is his "favorite sport after soccer."
Thank you so much for helping to make our trip special by sharing with us your culture and this lovely experience.
Kind regards,
Keri and Chris Baugh"

"Jean-Marc and Johann --

I hope that this response goes to you! Bob and I thoroughly enjoyed our
lesson in Petanque! It was a highlight of our trip.
The game is fun (if
challenging for some of us!!) and you filled the time not only with great
instruction but also with much laughter, good stories, and of course some
wonderful wine, pastis, and those fabulous snacks. As we traveled through
Provence afterward, whenever we saw little circles drawn in some gravel on
a flat surface, we knew that someone had been playing petanque!

Please also extend our thanks to your wives who made the snacks, and a
special thanks to Lisa for recommending Numero Neuf and its grand marnier
souffle.

A bientot.
